Pottstown Regional Public Library works to strengthen our diverse community by providing free and open access to resources that inform, instruct, inspire, and promote lifelong learning.

Serving the Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove, and Upper Pottsgrove townships.

History

The origins of the Pottstown Library predate the incorporation of the borough of Pottstown with the Pottstown Library Company, originally established in 1810. The responsibility and shape of the library changed several times over the nineteenth century and into the beginning of the twentieth century, from private companies to the Pottstown School District. Then, in 1921, the Century Club of Pottstown established what is now the contemporary Pottstown Library we recognize. It was housed in the Casselberry Mansion until 1963 when it moved one block down the street into the old post office building. We remain at that location today, committed as ever to serving our community.
