Big Boy Steam Train Event
Pottstown Children's Discovery Center
The Big Boy steam engine is coming to Pottstown July 2nd at 3:30pm and will make its stop right outside of PCDC! This historic event is expected to draw thousands of visitors. Please review the information below to help make your visit enjoyable.
Pottstown Information:
Hanover Street (between College Drive and High Street) will close at 12:00 PM.
The Big Boy's Whistle Stop in Pottstown will last approximately 15 minutes.
Parking lots near the tracks will be closed for viewing areas, and the PCDC main lot will be reserved for emergency vehicles.
No cars or pedestrians will be allowed to cross the train tracks after 2:00 PM.
Public parking is first-come, first-served and available on town streets, at MCCC South Hall, and Riverfront Park.
PCDC Information:
PCDC's location is uniquely situated to have a great view of Big Boy plus A/C and bathrooms!
From 12:00 PM onward on 7/2, PCDC will be open only to Big Boy event ticket holders.
Visitors can enjoy train-themed activities and play time while waiting for the train's arrival in the cool A/C.
Due to capacity limits, all guests (ages 1+ and adults) must have a ticket.
Tickets are $12 per person. Members received a significant discount code via email.
VIP Viewing Seats- Downstairs will have great views, but upstairs will have a perfect view for your little train lover!
Limited to 27 elevated children's viewing spots on the second floor.
Family members will accompany children by these special "front row" seats.
VIP seats require both a Big Boy Event Ticket and a VIP Viewing Seat Ticket.
